Every year I buy myself a new journal to keep notes from my client meetings, business ideas and new technologies I'm planning to adopt. There is something about a blank book full of opportunities and ideas to be noted and recorded that excites me. What does the future hold and what will the journal say in December 2016 about the past year?
As I start my journal this year, rather than starting with resolutions and goals on page one, I'm going to begin with the last page. Writing what has been achieved, writing what the year looked like, rather than writing what the year will look like. Here is my final chapter of an amazing 2016...

Lead a Business That has Grown...not just itself, but also the companies it has helped
I am so happy to say that I have grown the Marketing Eye Dallas office to over 25 accounts. Servicing each client based on their individual marketing needs. By helping other business owners market and grow their business I have been able to do the same for mine.
There is nothing more exciting than seeing your efforts come to fruition with business success.
Participated as a Thought Leader in my community and online
Maybe it's that I wanted to be a college professor, but I really enjoy teaching, sharing and helping others learn something new. I love that I have been able to share my marketing and entrepreneurial knowledge to help others grow their business and avoid many common marketing a business mistakes. The branding clinics have been a success and the speaking opportunities have helped me meet some wonderful entrepreneurs in the Dallas area.

It has been so exciting to lead a staff that works hard and brings Marketing Eye Dallas new ideas, technologies and business ideas to help our clients' businesses grow and us succeed.

Leading a thriving, creative and intelligent team of marketers
Employees can make or break a company and I am happy to say that I have been able to build a team that I can both lead and learn from. I am excited by our collaboration and what we have accomplished this year for Marketing Eye Dallas and out clients.
Our new space works well for collaboration and individual work. We are happy to bring clients to our space and have gained new clients from working in a office with small businesses needing marketing services.
Celebrating a great year with my family on a great vacation
I am happy that I have built a staff that can keep the business moving forward while I'm away. It's important to work hard, but it is also important for me to get away on a vacation with my husband and kids and have the opportunity to visit family and friends who live out of state. I am happy to have found the balance that allows me to grow a business while having a full life.
Met my fitness goal and completed a third half marathon
Staying active is not only good for my body, it is the precious time I dedicate to myself. My Pilates has kept me strong and flexible while my running kept me energized. My running group has inspired me to reach my running goals and completing my third half marathon and reaching a PR.
Overall 2016 is going to be a great year. It is not the resolutions I will be hoping to achieve, but rather filling in the details of an ending already written.
